6:30 pm - Virge Castillo of Midtown Video will give a presentation on Apple's Final Cut Server.

7:00 pm - Larry Jordan will give a presentation on improving your video compression by automating Compressor.

8:00 pm - Digital Production BuZZ podcast, which Larry Jordan hosts, will originate "live on tape" from our meeting. It will feature live guests, and interviews with user group members Nicole Martinez, Apple/Avid trainer, and indie filmmaker Iris B. Bring your questions for the Q&A at the end of the show!

September Users Group Meeting

Agenda:

Jeff Michalson, Graphics Designer, Multivision Video & Film, will make a presentation on the workflow for creating motion menus in DVD Studio Pro, particularly as it relates to exporting content from Final Cut Pro.

Ed Ballart, Editor, Multivision Video & Film, will demonstrate his workflow using the AJA IoHD and the Mac Pro to ingest and edit content in Prores 422 using real-time hardware compression within the IoHD.

Following each presentation there will be a brief Question and Answer period for those wanting more information.

Also, we'd love for attendees to bring in a sample of your work on DVD for a "Show 'n Tell" segment, even if it's a work in progress. After you present your work you can share your experiences, and challenges if any (ha ha), while producing the project.

Limited parking is available in our lot, outside our property curbside, the post office across the street, or the Metrorail garage. The meeting will begin at 7pm and end when the neighbors call the cops (kidding on that last part).

Bruce Nazarian will give a presentation on how video creators/producers using Final Cut Pro and Final Cut Studio can take advantage of Blu-ray authoring in a knowledgeable way. Bruce Nazarian will address a number of "gotchas" that currently exist in BD authoring, duplication and replication that make the current path to BD publishing not as straightforward as it is for DVD. The DVDA's mission will be to eliminate this confusion by providing information on what options are available for successfully producing and publishing using Blu-ray Disc.
